request fic for londaily

Lisa, know that I blame you completely for this. (Omg, I'm sorry- the characterizations, the plot (what plot???), and aaaah. But hey, it's done. ^^;;) I told you I couldn't write smut. Not even semi-pseudo-smut (which is what this tries to be, but watch it faaaaaaail miserably.)

Oh yeah, the quote ... didn't fit as well as I'd have liked.

Disclaimer: I don't own Tsubasa R.C. CLAMP does.

unspoken

Their days were spent following delicate, unspoken rules. Fai would smile, pretend as if he had nary a concern other than playing with Mokona and thinking up new ways to tease their resident ninja swordsman.

And Kurogane in turn would huff and pretend not to see the edge of fear and regret that haunted the blond magician’s aquamarine eyes. There are secrets not meant to be spoken aloud, so even if Kurogane guessed, even if he knew beyond any doubt that Fai was fleeing his country, fleeing his entire world, the swordsman said nothing.

And those times when the panic bleeds out from Fai’s blue blue eyes and drains the colour from his face, Kurogane knows that whatever the wizard is hiding from has found him again, on another world, in another form perhaps, but it was enough to shred Fai’s usual countenance if only for the split-second that Kurogane could see. The fair-haired man never answered any of Kurogane’s questions though, and his cheerful smile would be restored almost immediately, though his face remained paler than usual until they left the particular world.

Under the cover of night, however, with Fai’s lips trailing butterfly kisses down his chest, leaving a cool line along his bare skin…

“Anything goes,” the blond breathed into his mouth, tasting faintly of the strawberries he’s stolen from Kurogane’s tart earlier that evening.

Kurogane searched Fai’s eyes, which positively glowed in the faint moonlight, and found the naked desperation, longing and sorrow that he only caught glimpses of when the sun was up. With a swift movement, the dark-haired man shifted and it was the wizard that pinned under his strong body now. Fai did not mind, Kurogane knew immediately, because the other man was more than capable of resisting if he’d wanted; he was a trained, and skilled, fighter despite his frail look.

Their nights always had held an aura of unreality, and yet, nothing ever felt more real than this—the taste of Fai’s skin on his lips (he tasted of bitter winter nights and crisp, fresh snow), the small sounds that the wizard made, his fingers twisting in Kurogane’s hair, the way his breath hitched when Kurogane grazed his teeth over the magician’s collarbone, and the way his pale body shone with a light sheen of sweat in the dim blue moonbeams…

When Fai whispered his name in a rush of air and need, Kurogane forgot his musings and concentrated solely on making Fai utter that soft breathy sigh again…

//

Afterwards, as they lay together on the small bed, their bodies slick with sweat and cooling in the still air, Kurogane asks a question, uncharacteristically soft so as to not dispel the fog of surrealism still hanging in the air. Fai answers by burying his face into the crook of the other man’s neck, and inhales deeply. He is not ready—not yet. Kurogane waits for a few minutes longer, before sighing and bringing one arm up to wrap around the wizard’s slender frame. The silence holds this time, unbroken for the rest of the short, fleeting night.

(end)

I'm sorry? I liked it all the way up 'til the ending, where it kinda... disintegrated. ;___;
